Santa Ski Show returns on Saturday
Tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, their elves, and even the Grinch will perform in Kearney for the 6th annual winter waterski show in support of the Lions Club Food Drive.
According to Blair Ballantyne, president of the Lions Club, "This year has been difficult for many families because of the soaring food prices. Last year, the performance raised $4,000 in cash and 2000 pounds of food. This year, he says “we intend to surpass that mark!”
The Canadian National Waterski Show Team will be participating in this year's exhibition, and some of the team members may find Mirror Bay's water to be startlingly chilly after competing in Florida's World Waterski Show Tournament in October.
It is requested that showgoers provide cash or non-perishable food which will be donated to the local foodbank.
