Simcoe Muskoka Opioid Strategy Gives New Update
Regional agencies have provided an update on the opioid crisis in Muskoka. In the first year of the region's effors to reduce opioid deaths, the Simcoe Muskoka Opioid Strategy committee has given some insight into how things are going so far. Some of this year's achievements include 132 health professionals trained to treat opioid use disorders, over 7000 naloxone kits disributed, and three new needle exchange sites. The SMOS will continue the work needed to reduce opioid deaths in Muskoka.
