Smith Appears On CBC Asking Cottagers/Visitors To Avoid Travelling To Muskoka
Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith appeared on CBC News this morning talking about seasonal cottagers and visitors, and asking people not to come to cottage country and to listen to the advice of public health officials.
Smith says that despite people being asked not to come, some have, and once here, they should stay in their seasonal home and not interact with anyone outside of their cottage. He also said people should avoid traveling back and forth between their primary residence and cottage and choose to stay in one location.
Day visitors were encouraged not to come, as he pointed out, there are no businesses open that can support them.
Smith said this season will be very difficult on residents, businesses and visitors, saying it’s a very slow opening of a door, and not a linear progression back to normal.
