Snow Squall Watch Upgraded To A Warning For Huntsville & Points North
The Snow squall watch has been upgraded to a warning for Huntsville – Baysville, Burk’s Falls and Sundridge. A snow squall watch remains in effect for south Muskoka
Environment Canada says locally heavy snow squalls are forecast to develop this afternoon. These squalls are then expected to persist through Saturday.
Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are possible with these snow squalls.
Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h are also forecast to develop this afternoon. Given these strong winds, areas of near zero visibilities in blowing snow and heavy falling snow could make travel hazardous across the region.
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.
