Snowfest On Despite Cancellation Of OFSAA Competitions In Downtown Huntsville

Posted: 2020-02-19 13:08:17 By: hbr

The Huntsville Lake Of Bays Chamber of Commerce says that due to the province-wide teachers’ strike, OFSAA competitions will not take place in Downtown Huntsville this Friday.

SnowFest will continue, but only on Saturday, and if you love skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, and skating, then head Downtown for a free, family-friendly festival with winter activities on a snow-covered Main Street.

The event runs all day Saturday until 10:00 pm, with winter activities planned all day. Bring your own equipment to enjoy the unique Main Street winter experiences  including skijoring demos, a disc golf course in River Mill Park, dog sledding demos, fat bikes and skating on the River Mill Park rink.

Organizers say there’s also a pub crawl with a twist - snowshoe, ski, walk or take a horse-drawn sleigh to traverse Main Street while you sample unique fare to the tune of live music.
