Swim Advisory For Port Sydney Beach & Gull Lake Park Beach
The Town of Huntsville says that a swim advisory has been issued for the Port Sydney Beach. Meanwhile, the Town of Gravenhurst added Gull Lake Rotary Park Beach to its list of swim advisories. It joins Muskoka Bay Park Beach on the list.
An advisory is a warning to swimmers but it is not a beach closure. During an advisory, a beach is posted with warning signs when the water contains levels of bacteria that indicate there may be an increased risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose and throat infections and stomach disorders. If you choose to swim during an advisory, avoid ducking your head or swallowing the water.
The health unit will continue to test the water and municipalities will notify residents when the advisory is lifted.
