The Town of Gravenhurst says that there is a swimming advisory in effect for Gull Lake Beach. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit made the recommendation to post the advisory after taking water samples. During a swimming advisory, the beach is posted with warning signs, indicating that the most recent water samples showed bacteria in numbers that may increase the risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness. The town says that if residents choose to swim during a swim advisory, they should not drink the water nor go under the water. More information is available on the Town of Gravenhurst's website.
