TLDSB Announces Surplus
A $2.7 million surplus was announced at the Trillium Lakelands District School Board meeting on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Business Services, Tim Ellis, presented trustees with the Financial Statements for the 2020-2021 school year and noted the highlight of a surplus of approximately 1 percent of revenues, the first in a number of years.
Over the past 18+ months of the COVID-19 pandemic, school boards in Ontario received funding allocations from the Province, which were set aside for COVID-19 initiatives.
The board says this funding has been one of the reasons the school board has steered its way out of a deficit.
