Town Of Bracebridge Losing $165,000 A Month During Lockdown
The Town of Bracebridge is considering up to $2.4 million in cuts to help offset losses piling up as part of the COVID-19 crisis.
During the most recent Bracebridge general committee meeting, councillors heard the Town is losing roughly $165,000 per month during the crisis.
However, Town CAO John Sisson said in an effort to control expenses, staff have identified $2.4 million in discretionary expenses in the 2020 budget that may not move forward.
In addition to a number of staff that are on leave, Sisson said fewer payments for mileage and conference expenses have helped to offset costs.
Councillors heard that there are a number of projects that will be on a list of possible deferrals - some minor and some major. That list will come forward for their perusal in the near future.
