Trekkers Needed For Tourette Syndrome
The 13th annual Trek for Tourette takes place on Sunday May 30th and will see Muskoka residents putting their feet to local pathways for a virtual 5 km charity fun walk to support
Tourette Canada in its annual fundraising drive.
Organizers say Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a poorly understood
neurodevelopmental disorder that affects as many as one in 100 Canadian children and adults. It currently has no cure.
Last year’s Trek was held virtually as an alternative format in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Event organizer Shawn Forth says “Last year we had over 45 ‘trekkers’ and we raised $3300.” This year he’s hoping for similar results.
The new date for the Trek falls directly in the middle of Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month - May 15 – June 15.
