Two Impaired Drivers Taken Off The Streets
Bracebridge OPP investigated two impaired driving incidents over the weekend that resulted in charges.
Police say that on Friday at 7:40 p.m. officers set up a RIDE check close to the Bracebridge town core and within 7 minutes began an investigation into the sobriety of a driver. As a result, a 64 year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with Impaired Operation-Over 80 and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 17, 2019.
Then on Saturday while on patrol in the town of Gravenhurst, an officer observed some concerning driving behaviour and conducted a traffic stop on Bethune Drive. As a result of that investigation, the driver - a 31 year-old Bracebridge woman- has been charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 24, 2019 to answer to her charges.
Police say that in all cases where a driver is charged with Impaired Driving, their driver's license is suspended for 90 days and their vehicle is impounded.
