Witnesses Call In Drunk Driver
Bracebridge OPP arrested an impaired driver thanks to the efforts of a concerned member of the public.
Police say that shortly after 8 pm on March 11th, they received a call from a concerned driver regarding a suspected impaired driver after he was witnessed swerving and then running a stop light in Gravenhurst.
Police responded and were able to locate the suspect vehicle. Witnesses advised police that while they were responding the driver and passenger swapped seats. The officers spoke to the occupants of the vehicle and subsequently arrested the correct driver.
Charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Having Open Liquor in Vehicle and Failure to Surrender Drivers Licence, is 35 year old Mathew Mailey of Oro-Medonte.
He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 9th 2019 to answer to his charges.
