Youth charged with theft of $84K in lottery tickets
The Almaguin Highlands OPP with the assistance of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) have made an arrest after thousands of dollars in lottery tickets were stolen.
Police say that on Monday, February 12, the OPP responded to a theft of lottery tickets from a business in Magnetawan. With the assistance of the OLG it was determined that approximately $84,000.00 worth of lottery tickets were taken from the business over a period of months.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old youth from Magnetawan was arrested and charged with Theft over $5000.00.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Court on June 27, 2024.
The name of the accused will not be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
