The food bank is helping more than double its estimated number of families
Today and Saturday shoppers at Bullock’s Independent Grocer will have a chance to support Huntsville's newest food bank.
The Corner lighthouse Community Hub and Food Bank, opened on April 1st with the goal of assisting a hundred families, but has surpassed that goal: now helping over 225 families who need support - after only two weeks in operation.
Lynne Doyle with the organization, stresses that besides food, the Corner Lighthouse will provide other supports to people in need, helping to lift them out of poverty.
Supported in partnership with the Bay Food Crew and Bullock’s Independent, you can help with a donation this weekend while doing your shopping.
The Rotary Clubs of Huntsville are also pitching in, hosting a pancake breakfast on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Trinity United.
