Motorcycle Safety Awareness Week runs May 1st to 7th, and the Huntsville OPP is reminding drivers to be extra alert as the riding season begins.
Central Ontario saw 419 motorcycle-related crashes over the past two years, with 27 fatalities.
Losing control was the top cause, along with inattention and improper turns.
Locally, Huntsville recorded 54 crashes, mostly during daylight hours from May to August.
Riders are urged to prep their bikes, and drivers are reminded to share the road.
