The Bay will match donations up to $5000!
Well-known long distance swimmer Joy Jarvis is preparing for a long-distance swim this summer in support of local healthcare.
Jarvis, a dedicated community fundraiser, will complete a 9-kilometre open-water swim on July 26 to raise money for the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Raise Muskoka Campaign.
The campaign supports the development of a new hospital in Huntsville. Jarvis has previously raised funds through open-water swims for several local charities, including Hospice Huntsville and Camp Oochigeas.
This year’s effort is getting an added boost, with donations to Jarvis’s swim being matched by The Bay, up to $5,000.
The swim is set to begin at 8 a.m. from the docks near Algonquin Outfitters and is expected to wrap up around 12:30 p.m., with organizers encouraging residents to support the effort through donations.
