The train joined the first trainset at the VIA Rail Maintenance Centre in Toronto
Ontario Northland’s new Northlander trainset was joined by a new trainset called TS2 as preparations for a return to service continue.
The new trainset arrived at the VIA Rail Toronto Maintenance Centre, where it underwent initial servicing. Crews quickly moved the train into position for fueling, marking one of the first steps in getting the equipment ready for operation.
The Northlander project is expected to restore passenger rail service across northeastern Ontario, with testing and staging work now underway as officials prepare for the anticipated launch.
