Coldest Night Of The Year raises thousands for those in need
Hundreds of people took to the streets Saturday for the Coldest Night of the Year, raising money and awareness for those facing homelessness, hunger, and hardship.
In Gravenhurst, walkers set off from the Muskoka Wharf Lions Pavilion, while in Huntsville, the event began at 9 Hanes Street. Participants formed teams, collected donations, and walked 2 or 5 kilometers in support of local charities.
Gravenhurst Against Poverty raised over $133,000 , while The Table Soup Kitchen in Huntsville brought in over $84,000.
The annual event continues to highlight the community’s commitment to helping those in need.
