Fire destroys commercial units in Bracebridge

A structure fire in Bracebridge on January 31 has left multiple units damaged after a boat caught fire in one of the commercial units at 6 Monica Lane. The fire quickly spread to other units, resulting in significant property loss. No injuries were reported.
Around 25 firefighters from Bracebridge’s Station 1 and 2 responded, assisted by Gravenhurst Fire Department personnel. The fire was brought under control by 7:30 p.m., and crews remained on site to monitor hot spots.
The Ontario Fire Marshal was notified and began an investigation on February 1 due to the substantial damage. Heavy equipment is now on site to assist in the investigation.
