Hospital Foundation receives $30,000 from accommodation tax association

The Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association has donated $30,000 to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation to help support the growing demands on the local hospital.
As tourism increases, particularly during the summer months, the hospital sees a surge in emergency visits from both residents and visitors.
The association which promotes tourism in the area, has already contributed $80,000 since 2023.
The Huntsville Hospital Foundation is working to raise $35 million for a new hospital, with additional funds needed for ongoing operations and equipment.
The funds come from the Municipal Accommodation Tax paid by visitors to local accommodations.
