Two Muskoka residents to receive King Charles Coronation Medal

Muskoka residents Dr. Eva Olsson and Penny Varney will receive The King Charles III Coronation Medal on March 8, 2025, in recognition of their significant contributions to Canada and their community.
The medals are awarded for outstanding achievements in service, the environment, sustainability, and promoting diversity. Dr. Olsson, a Holocaust survivor, educator, and advocate against hatred, has shared her story more than 3,800 times.
Penny Varney, a Gravenhurst community leader and accomplished goldsmith, has contributed through various local initiatives and is a Gravenhurst Councillor.
The presentation will take place at the YWCA Muskoka’s 19th Women of Distinction Awards Gala at Hidden Valley Resort.
