Beaver Creek Comes Out of Lock Down
Officicals at Beaver Creek say the lockdown put in place in the medium-security unit on August 27th has ended and search of the facility has been completed. The institution has resumed its normal operations.
Officials report a number of contraband and unauthorized items were found during the search.
Visits to the institution have resumed.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says they are strengthening measures to prevent the entry of contraband into its institutions in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. The CSC says it is working in partnership with the police to take action against anyone who attempts to have contraband brought into correctional institutions.
