District considers $77 million tax supported contribution to new hospitals
The District of Muskoka is considering making a commitment of over $77 million to help fund Muskoka’s two new hospitals, taxing residents to support it.
The decision came at a recent health services committee meeting.
The tax hike would result in an increase of just of $4.00 for a property assessesed at $300,000.
The proposal would have to be approved at District Council in order to take effect.
Its part of the total $225 million commitment to be paid locally, with lower tier municipalities in Muskoka and East Parry Sound asked to contribute.
