Fire destroys Lake of Bays home

Firefighters battled a massive blaze in Lake of Bays on Saturday after a two-story home on Grainger Grove Road went up in flames.
Crews from multiple stations responded around 2:42 p.m., arriving to find the fire fully involved with flames through the roof.
With no nearby hydrants, water tanker trucks were critical in preventing the fire from spreading.
The blaze was finally extinguished by 8:14 p.m., with no injuries reported. The home suffered over a million dollars in damage, and while the cause couldn’t be determined, it has been ruled accidental.
Fire officials remind residents to keep driveways clear of snow and 911 signs visible to help emergency crews respond quickly.
