Huntsville Hospital warns of planned power outage
The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital will experience a planned power outage next Wednesday night.
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says the hospital’s emergency backup power will be shut down from 8 p.m. to midnight to connect the new MRI suite to the system. During this time, emergency services will be limited, and ambulances may be diverted. Surgical procedures and outpatient services will also be paused.
Officials say extensive planning is in place to ensure patient safety, and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge will handle obstetrical deliveries.
Residents are asked to avoid the hospital unless absolutely necessary.
