Tonight is the Annual Food Drive for the Bracebridge Salvation Army.  The Bracebridge Fire Dept is reminding residents that volunteers will be picking up bags of food starting at 5pm.

The food will be distributed throughout the year to those in need.

And the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is ramping up for the 30th annual Project Porchlight Food Drive, which is  taking place this Wednesday starting at 6:00pm.

Project Porchlight is an evening when fire trucks, ambulances and police cruisers go door-to-door collecting healthy non-perishable food donations.

Organizers ask you please leave your porch light on and firefighters along with Santa and other community volunteers will be by to pick up your food donation. The collected food is distributed by the Salvation Army to those in need within the community throughout the year.

You can also drop food donations off at the following locations:

 Huntsville & Port Sydney Fire Halls, Lake of Bays Fire Halls on Limberlost Rd., Fox Point Rd. and 12 University St. in Lake of Bays.  You can also drop off donations at The Salvation Army in Huntsville.
