Former Huntsville Resident Helps Rescue Two Boaters From Chilly Georgian Bay Waters
A former Huntsville resident now stationed with The Canadian Coast Guard was involved rescuing two people from the water after a boat capsized late Friday night near Port McNicoll on Georgian Bay.
TheCoast Guard scrambled an inshore rescue boat from Brebeuf Island, as well as the CCGS Samuel Risley and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat, CGA Thunder Spirit of Penetanguishene.
The inshore rescue boat crewed by former Huntsville resident Emma Moore, arrived on the scene within 15 minutes and aided two people, who were clinging to debris floating in the water.
The pair were brought to shore and sent to local hospital.
