Group hopes to make hospital redevelopment an election issue
The Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee is making healthcare a central issue in the upcoming provincial election.
The grassroots group, opposed to Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s redevelopment plans, says the proposed changes jeopardize healthcare for residents. Jason Cole, chair of the Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee, announced they’ll be asking local candidates to address issues such as inadequate bed numbers, the questionable site selection, and transportation concerns.
The group has also sent letters to municipal and provincial officials, requesting a meeting with Health Minister Sylvia Jones to discuss the future of the hospital plans.
