Huntsville Asks For Feedback on Proposed Noise Bylaw
The Town of Huntsville is seeking input on proposed changes to the Noise By-Law and will be hosting two public meetings this week to gather input from residents.
Andrew Stillar Chief By-Law Officer for the Town of Huntsville says it's an opportunity for the community to review the proposed changes and provide feedback and ensure that the by-law clearly reflects the values of its citizens with respect to noise and tolerance.
Changes include clarification of definitions used in the by-law, noise exemptions, and increased fines as well as how the Town approaches provisions related to pet noise, excessive noise, and special event noise.
Both meetings start at 7:00pm with a presentation from staff on the proposed changes to the Noise By-Law. Following the presentation, staff will be available to answer questions on a drop-in basis until 8:30pm.
The first meeting takes place on Wednesday, at the Active Living Centre. On Thursday the meeting will held at the Port Sydney Community Hall.
