Huntsville begins process to restore Brunel Locks
The Town of Huntsville's General Committee received a report on much-needed repairs for the heritage Brunel Lift Locks. The report outlines that the extent of the structural issues remains unclear, prompting a request to hire an engineer for an inspection and assessment. The report aims to outline a 10-year restoration plan for the Locks and related assets.
Preliminary costs for this structural assessment are estimated at $40,000, which would be funded through the Parks Capital Reserve and added to the draft 2025 Capital Budget.
