Huntsville Plans to Educate Residents on By-Laws
The Town of Huntsville has been working on a By-Law education campaign, in order to Inform the public on what by-laws exist and what exactly they are.
Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer Andrew Stillar says they want to be proactive and positive, and compared it to the fire departments initiative twice a year to remind people to change their smoke detector batteries. He also highlighted having parking ambassadors out on the streets 5 days a week educating drivers and passing out fliers so people know when and where they can park.
The campaigns will be held annually. They include creating specific pages available on the towns website, educating community ambassadors, radio ads, and fliers.
Nancy Alcock says she thinks the campaign is a good idea because there are a lot of bylaws that people are confused about or don’t know exactly what they entail. The most important one being burning.
