Internet Issues Blamed For Voting Delays
The Town of Bracebridge says that at approximately 6:00 p.m. yesterday, the Internet and Telephone Voting System provided by Dominion Voting Systems experienced a significant slowdown and extreme volume of activity in the final hours of voting.
51 municipalities utilizing the Dominion System experienced the same issue which was traced the problem to its internet colocation provider in Toronto which placed an unauthorized cap on voting traffic which resulted in only 1/10th of the required bandwidth being provided.
While the 90- minute slowdown caused a number of delays and time-outs, Dominion has confirmed that at no time was the integrity of the system at risk of compromise or in any way insecure.
To address the situation municipalities authorized a 24-hour extension to the voting period until 8:00 p.m. today
