Lake of Bays offering info sessions on Community Improvement Plan
The Township of Lake of Bays is inviting residents to an in-person information session about the next phase of developing the Community Improvement Plan (CIP). The municipality says that recently, public feedback from the community was solicited in order to gain input and insights into the design of the CIP. Over 200 community members took part, revealing several common themes such as a desire for more public restrooms, increased business opportunities, environmental protection, road improvements, sidewalks and trails, more parking, expanded programming, the creation of more housing, and a focus on arts and culture.
The township says the feedback has aided the team in developing concepts for the Dorset, Dwight, Baysville, and Hillside areas. The next step in the public engagement process for building the CIP is to share these ideas with the public at an in-person information event on September 18th. The sessions at 3pm and 6.30pm will begin with a presentation that will include an overview of the plan, ideas for improving parks, streets, and community amenities, and a parking strategy.
