Municipalities get together to discuss protecting the watershed
Over 60 municipal leaders from the Muskoka watershed gathered in Huntsville yesterday for an Integrated Watershed Management Workshop.
Hosted by the Town of Huntsville and Township of Lake of Bays, the event brought together mayors, council members, and First Nations representatives to discuss protecting the region's vital watersheds.
Huntsville Mayor Nancy Alcock emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship, aligning with the town's strategic plan to protect natural spaces.
Lake of Bays Mayor Terry Glover highlighted the vulnerability of Muskoka’s watersheds and the need for unity in safeguarding these resources.
This was the second workshop aimed at fostering collaboration on watershed management across municipalities and governments.
