Muskoka Community Land Trust provides update to their housing initiative
The Muskoka Community Land Trust (MCLT) provided an update to their housing initiative on Florence Street West, in yesterday’s Huntsville General Committee meeting.
The land trust representative, Ben Jardine, advised that they’ve started the Community Engagement Plan, which includes building relationships with local community and service groups, and businesses.
Jardine adds that their current objective is now primarily long-term rentals.
On the 7.5 acres of property, they’re planning for mixed residential units that will include three storey buildings, town houses, and single-family bungalows, creating 179 residential units in total.
Jardine advised they expect to start the first phase of building in “late 2024 – early 2025 if it goes according to plan.”
