New Subdivision Coming to Bracebridge
Bracebridge could soon see another 98 homes in the north end of town.
During last Wednesday’s council meeting, plans for a subdivision by Loon Call developers were approved and sent along to the District of Muskoka.
The subdivision is set to be built on 6.5 hectares of property located at 529 Manitoba Street, located just south of the Clearbrook Trail subdivision.
Phase 1 of the project is expected to consist of 34 new detached dwellings, with row dwellings slated for subsequent phases.
The biggest hang-up appeared to be how to deal with the additional traffic flow in the area.
Cheryl Kelly, the director of planning and development, said that while talks are still ongoing the Town supports turning lanes at the new intersection and a signaled pedestrian crossing.
Ultimately the traffic decision will fall to the District, as Manitoba Street is technically a District-owned road.
