Police arrest two more drivers with impaired yesterday
The Huntsville OPP arrested two drivers for impaired driving in separate incidents on January 29, 2025.
Police say that at 7:10 p.m., they responded to a report of a vehicle striking a building at a restaurant off Howland Drive. The driver, 42-year-old Benjamin Longpre of Huntsville, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He faces charges of impaired operation and will appear in court on February 25. His vehicle was impounded, and his driver’s license suspended for 90 days.
Later that evening, at 8:59 p.m., police responded to a vehicle in a snowbank on Muskoka Road 3 North. A witness believed the driver was intoxicated. Tiffany Gallant-Macedo, 38, also of Huntsville, was arrested and charged with impaired operation. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, and her vehicle was also impounded with a 90-day license suspension.
Both incidents highlight the importance of planning ahead—use a designated driver or alternative transportation to avoid impaired driving.
