Smith announces funding to rehabilitate Huntsville & Baysville dams
MPP Graydon Smith announced that the province is investing $75 million in rehabilitating ten dams across the province, including the Baysville and Huntsville Dams.
The announcement was made yesterday in Baysville by MPP and Minister of Natural Resources, Graydon Smith, along with local leaders.
The funding will support essential repairs, including concrete resurfacing and restoration of deteriorating areas at the Baysville Dam, with work set to begin in 2025.
The project aims to extend the life of each dam by up to 100 years, ensuring the safety of communities and the environment.
These efforts are part of the province’s long-term plan to improve water management and support economic growth.
