South River receives $150,000 for trail improvements

MPP Graydon Smith was on hand as the Village of South River announced it has just been awarded a $150,000 Trail Development Grant thanks to the Ontario government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The grant, which was received last fall will notably enhance pedestrian access to South River's waterfront park. The municipality says the trail will provide a safe passage for walkers, cyclists, and individuals using mobility aids, linking the sidewalk network to Tom Thomson Park.
Moreover, the municipality says it will augment safety and accessibility for active transportation methods in the community.
