Standardized markings coming to Huntsville fire hydrants

The District of Muskoka and The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department are implementing standardized markings for all fire hydrants in the area.
District-maintained hydrants will be yellow, while privately maintained ones will be red. Flow rates will be indicated on caps using a color-coded system.
The markings will aid firefighters in locating and assessing hydrants during emergencies.
Owners of privately maintained hydrants are urged to contact the HLOB Fire Prevention Division for inquiries.
