Total Fire Ban in Algonquin Highlands Twp.

The Township of Algonquin Highlands and Haliburton County have declared a total Fire Ban effective Wednesday, May 17th.
This means no outdoor burning any time of day. Active daytime burning permits will be suspended until further notice. The township sats the ban will remain in effect for a minimum of a week.
Bonfires, fireworks and the lighting of charcoal barbecues are prohibited. Violating the ban will result in fines. In Algonquin Highlands, this entails being charged with the costs of deploying Algonquin Highlands Fire Services.
Currently the Fire Danger Rating in Muskoka and Almaguin Highlands is set to HIGH.
