Water Safety Bulletin in effect until January 6th
The Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a Water Safety Bulletin for residents in the Bracebridge, Minden, and Parry Sound District.
The MNR says recent rainfall of 25 to 30mm, combined with snowmelt, has caused significant runoff into local rivers and lakes, raising water levels above normal.
Officials are urging extreme caution due to unseasonably warm weather and rapidly changing ice conditions.
Residents are advised to stay cautious around water, supervise children and pets, and secure vulnerable property near rivers and lakes.
The advisory is in effect until January 6th.
