Blue-Green Algae Reported in Armour and Seguin Twps
The North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit is advising the public not to drink the water in three lakes in Seguin and Armour Twps that blue-green algae has been found.
Rankin Lake in Seguin Township and Pickerel Lake and Three Mile Lake in Armour Twp are affected and the health unit advises that residents not use lake water for drinking, cooking, bathing, brushing teeth, and water sports. The Health Unit says that using a water filtration system or boiling the water will NOT destroy the toxins.
The Health Unit advises that you keep pets away from the water and do not swim where there is blue-green algae.
Even when blue-green algae has disappeared, toxins can remain in the water for a long time.
