Diggin' Downtown project gets final push for completion
A one-time exemption to the noise by-law for road work on Main Street in Huntsville has been approved. Town Council gave the go-ahead to Dufferin Construction for up to two nights in the Special Meeting held this morning.
The exemption will allow the night construction on June 13th and 17th from the Main Street bridge to Lorne Street, upon the condition that the public and businesses directly impacted be formally notified.
Director of Operations and Protective Services, Tarmo Uukkivi said, “The plan is weather dependant for Monday night, to start the final lift of ash vault and painting of the lines, and to go to bed Monday night and wake up Tuesday morning and the entire project is complete downtown.”
He adds that the goal is to get it done all at once with “minimal impact to traffic and life downtown.”
