District Invests $2.3 Million At Rosewarne Landfill
The District scale house and maintenance facility in Bracebridge is set for $2.3 million in upgrades.
During their most recent meeting, councillors signed off on a contract with GreyStone Project Management to design and construct the new facility at the Rosewarne Landfill in Bracebridge.
The project consists of a new administration and maintenance garage facility, as well as a new scale house and scales.
The project was debated a number of times around the council table because it was thought to be too costly in its original form.
In the end, staff took a number of steps to cut costs. That included reducing the number of offices, revising the male and female washrooms and locker rooms to unisex washrooms with built-in changerooms and showers, eliminating men’s and women’s locker rooms and ensuring that the scale house is now a prefabricated building that will be delivered to the site.
The project is expected to be done by the spring of 2020.
