District launches on-demand transit service
The District of Muskoka will launch Phase 1 of its Demand-Responsive Transit service today in Gravenhurst. The District says this innovative transit option allows passengers to book rides in advance via a mobile app, optimizing routes based on demand.
Initially available in Gravenhurst, the service operates Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fares are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children under 12 with an adult.
Rides can be booked through the Blaise app, website, or by calling the District office. Funded by the District and the Government of Ontario, the project aims to enhance local transportation, with expansions expected in 2025.
