Yesterday, the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and Minister responsible for FedNor, announced an investment of $535,000 for Muskoka North Good Food Co-op in Huntsville. The funding, part of FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program, aims to help the co-op purchase new equipment and expand its operations to meet growing demand.

Fednor says the investment will enable the co-op to acquire a second modular farm pod, install a walk-in cooler and freezer, and establish a micro-bakery. This initiative is expected to double the co-op’s size, increase profitability, and create five full-time jobs.

Once complete, the project will enhance local families' access to safe, reliable, and nutritious foods.
