Graydon Smith says the $200 taxpayer rebate for eligible Ontarians is a crucial step
Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith says the $200 taxpayer rebate for eligible Ontarians is a crucial step to help residents, made possible by higher-than-expected provincial revenues.
In an interview with Hunters Bay Radio, Smith emphasized that the government is on track for a balanced budget and sees this as a good opportunity to put money back in people's pockets.
He noted that while the government hasn't raised taxes and has focused on growing the economy, it recognizes that affordability remains a significant challenge.
The $200 rebate will go to all eligible residents, with an additional $200 for each eligible child. Cheques are expected to be mailed in early 2025.
