Health Unit Releases Updated Instruction Letter For All Businesses
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has provided an updated letter of instructions and compliance to area businesses. The letter outlines new public health measures a business must adhere to in the Orange-Restrict zone.
Dr. Charles Gardiner states in the letter that the region is at its highest levels to date, confirming an upward surge of COVID-19, and more action is required to curb its spread.
The letter outlines several new criteria that must be followed including the appointment of a Compliance Officer for each business. As well, businesses must formalize a safety plan that implements all required and recommended occupational health and safety and infection prevention and control measures.
The letter encourages employers to arrange for remote at home work to reduce the number of workers exposed at the workplace.
