Healthcare Group Bids To Become The First Ontario Health Teams
A group of health care partners from Muskoka and Area have come together to submit an application for consideration by the Ministry of Health, in response to the Provincial Government’s invitation to become one of the province’s first Ontario Health Teams. Muskoka and Area is one of just 31 initial groups selected to proceed to full application.
A Steering Committee, brought together by Dr. David Mathies, has been working together over the past several months on a substantial planning submission to the Province. The Steering Committee is comprised of a group of individuals and organizations, many of whom were involved in the Muskoka and Area Health System Transformation (MAHST) project that was initiated in the fall of 2016.
The group says that by integrating and organizing to deliver services locally under a collaborative partnership model, the Muskoka and Area OHT will provide seamless care for patients, families and caregivers.
They anticipate a community visit from the Ministry of Health to assess in-person their application.
